Strengthening our internal processes and managing risks in the best and most effective manner is a constant goal for Eurobank. To this end, we implement management systems and apply best practices in accordance with ISO standards across all 3 ESG pillars.
Environment
True to our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint, we apply international certification standards and best practices consistently across our operations. We have received the following ISO certifications for our environmental processes, the policies we adopt and our systems:
- ISO 14001 Environmental management systems – Eurobank applies an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001 since 2004.
This certified environmental management system covers 100% of our operations, reduces our environmental impact and improves our environmental performance. Every year it is reviewed by an independent certification body, TÜV Hellas.
- ISO 50001 Energy management systems – Eurobank applies an Energy Management System certified to ISO 50001 since 2015. This certified energy management system covers 100% of our operations.
- ISO 14064 Greenhouse gas emissions – Eurobank has been implementing ISO 14064 since 2022 to quantify and report on its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals.
As of 2019, Eurobank is also included in the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) Register for Environmental Management, kept by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (registration no. EL-000080).
Society
Recognising our key role in serving society and our employees, we seek to create a positive impact through all aspects and areas of our activities. To this end, we have received ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Eurobank applies this system since 2006. This certified management system covers all our employees and activities, including the premises of all our network branches and 7 central buildings.
Governance
Our corporate governance reflects our values and the way we operate. We have strict mechanisms in place to ensure no monetary losses, business disruption or data breaches. To this end, we have received the following ISO certifications:
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System – Eurobank applies a Quality Management System focused on a specific range of services certified to ISO 9001 since 2000.
- ISO 10002 Quality management – Eurobank has received ISO 10002 attestation for Quality Management – Customer Satisfaction requirements for enhancing the complaint handling process since 2021.
- ISO 20000 IT services management system – Our IT services management system is certified to ISO 20000 since 2013. This certified system ensures the uninterrupted provision of IT services to other units within the bank, focusing on IT systems and infrastructure.
- ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System – Eurobank applies a business continuity management system certified to ISO 22301 since 2013. Our certified system ensures business continuity and resilience in case of a potential disruptive threat, while supporting the ongoing provision of services to our customers.
- ISO/IEC 27001 Information security management system – Eurobank applies an information security management system certified to ISO/IEC 27001 since 2004. This certification covers the administration and operation of both on-site and cloud IT and telecommunication systems.
- ISO 37002 Whistleblowing management system – Eurobank applies a whistleblowing management system attested to ISO 37002 since 2023. This attestation ensures that our system is based on the principles of trust, impartiality and protection.
