To be able to make our dreams come true and successfully meet our needs in the future. It takes patience, consistency and small steps every day to achieve minor or major goals.

Saving again

At Eurobank we feel the need to remind our fellow citizens of the need to save money. Our aim is to help the new generation realise how important it is to save money and learn that with patience, persistence and perseverance we can achieve our goals.

Saving is a timeless concept that always rings true and is tantamount to the history and legacy of the Hellenic Postbank.

We promote this concept through educational initiatives, actions to raise awareness and savings products, such as the Saving Now and Megalono accounts, and the time deposits at favourable interest rates and terms.

Are we saving in Greece?

Are we saving in Greece?

As saving is one of the key components of Eurobank’s mission, we partnered with the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) to conduct a study on the saving mentality in Greece today (available only in Greek).

The study showed the high savings deficit in the Greek economy, and an even more disappointing progress of savings over time.

This is why we are commencing an effort to support national savings and to create a savings culture, aiming to benefit society and help the economy grow.

Reintroducing the concept of written essays on saving

We are working with the Hellenic Financial Literacy Institute (HFLI) to reintroduce the concept of written essays, a long-standing tradition which has actively helped create a saving mentality in the past.

Every year, 6th-grade students will be asked to write an essay on saving.

Eurobank will reward the 10 best essays with €1,000.

This amount will be deposited in a Megalono account, with the winning student as sole beneficiary.

Raising awareness about saving

In partnership with the University of Piraeus, we organise training seminars for primary education teachers on saving and other financial concepts.

This will allow them to help students make saving a part of their life.

Additionally, in the context of the World Savings Day on 31 October, we visit primary schools throughout Greece.

We talk to children about the value and benefits of saving, how it can become a way of life and a tool to make their dreams come true.

Motivating and rewarding solutions

As beneficiaries of the Savings, 18 Plus, Saving Now and Megalono accounts, you automatically enter the draws we organise on a regular basis and you or your children win cash prizes.

Prompted by the World Savings Day, we are doubling the draw winners for the Savings, 18 Plus and Saving Now accounts.

This way we offer new and more effective ways for you to share the value of saving with your family.
