Olympic gold medallists Sophia Bekatorou and Emilia Tsoulfa visited Crete, on Saturday 15 October, as part of the “Living the sailing experience” programme, aiming at attracting to sailing young people who love sea and sports.
“Living the sailing experience” is a new EFG Eurobank initiative with the contribution of the two Olympic gold medallists. It includes visits and events held at local yachting club facilities throughout Greece. The aim of the two Olympic gold medallists is to promote sailing among young people and make them share their love for the sea, as well as their valuable experience and knowledge.
Many young people were present at the event organised at the Eolos Yachting Club, in Aghios Nicolaos, Crete, and they had the opportunity to share with the two gold medallists the secrets of sailing, to be introduced to the joys of the sport and to get a feeling of rigged “Optimist” boats. For all young, budding sailors, this “Living the sailing experience” event was a unique opportunity to learn about the sport.
