Protecting the environment
For the first time in Greece, Eurobank is issuing biodegradable cards. One of these is the Debit Mastercard.
They are made of polylactic acid (PLA), a petroleum-free, non-toxic plastic substitute. Less energy is consumed and significantly less greenhouse gases are emitted to produce this material.
When they expire, the Eurobank debit cards can be recycled or composted.
The new material we use is just as durable as the material in the previous plastic cards.
We are putting into action our commitment to protect the environment and promote sustainability.
Innovative vertical design
The Eurobank debit cards have a modern vertical design that is compatible with the way you use them.
For the first time ever, we are bridging the physical and the digital, offering you the same experience in your transactions with your card:
- In its physical form, when you shop or pay at a POS terminal.
- In its digital form on your digital wallet.
Coloured edge
We have made the edge of all our debit cards red.
This makes it easier to find in your wallet.
Simple look
All the details on the Eurobank debit cards are printed on the back of the card.
This is the latest trend in card design worldwide. We applied these to give you a modern card, both in terms of functionality and look.

Use the €pistrofi app to see how many euros you have earned through your debit card from the €pistrofi loyalty programme. The map helps you locate partner retailers where you may redeem your euros using your debit card.
Chip & PIN technology
Chip & PIN technology secures your in-store transactions. Your transaction is completed when you enter your card PIN.
Change your card PIN regularly at one of our ATMs for even better security.
Strong customer authentication
When carrying out transactions online with your debit card, you are authenticated with strong customer authentication:
- Through the Eurobank Mobile App.
- With the One-Time Password (OTP) you receive by SMS on the mobile you registered when signing up to e-Banking.
This ensures that the transactions are carried out by you, reducing the risk of fraud.
Control over your card
It is easy and secure to manage the settings of your debit card.
Through your card settings, you can:
- Activate your card and PIN for the first time.
- Choose to have your card reissued or cancelled.
Through Cards Control, you can:
- Temporarily freeze and unfreeze your card.
- Switch on/off the purchase option for certain transactions using your card.
- Switch on/off the ATM cash withdrawal option.
- Change the daily cash withdrawal limit.

Round-the-clock monitoring
Get updates on your debit card at any time:
- Over the phone through EuroPhone Banking.
- From your computer through e-Banking.
- From your mobile through the Eurobank Mobile App.
- At our ATMs.
Monitor any activity on your debit card or the balance on your linked account.
Yes. Choose the accounts you wish to link to your card through your e-Banking or the Eurobank Mobile App. Set one of them as your primary account for payments.
You may link any payment account as the primary account for your Debit Mastercard. Other types of accounts, such as the Saving Now Account or loan repayment accounts, can only be linked as secondary accounts.
Your primary account:
- Is charged automatically when you withdraw cash from an ATM of another bank in Greece or an ATM displaying the Mastercard logo abroad.
- Appears first when you withdraw cash at any Eurobank ΑΤΜ.
- Is charged automatically when you shop using your debit card.
When you carry out any transaction at a Eurobank ATM, you have access to all your accounts that are linked to your card. You choose which one you want to charge.
Yes, it is absolutely safe. Contactless transactions use Chip & PIN technology. They are carried out according to security regulations set by international organisations.
Your card never leaves your hands.
If you get the card online, you receive it quickly in:
- Up to 3 working days in urban centres.
- 5 to 7 working days in all other areas.
No. For anybody to use your card and gain access to your account, they must know its PIN.
Only you should know your card PIN. You must memorise it and never write it down.
If you’re not sure whether you’ve lost your card, you can freeze it temporarily using Cards Control through the Eurobank Mobile App or your e-Banking, rather than cancelling it right away. This way no one can use it to withdraw cash at ATMs or shop online or in-store. You can unfreeze it at any time as soon as you find it.
If you don’t find your card, choose to get it reissued it through your card settings on your e- Banking or the Eurobank Mobile App. Your card will be cancelled and you will receive a new one.
Alternatively, call EuroPhone Banking immediately to notify us of the loss and cancel the card:
- +302109555000
You can also have your debit card cancelled and reissued at one of our branches.
Issuing a new debit card costs €6.
I am not receiving a printed statement with my card transaction history. How do I get this information?
Printed statements with the transaction history of debit cards are no longer sent out by post. Our aim is to limit the impact of our operations on the environment and protect your personal data.
You can receive electronic copies through e-Statements. The electronic files are PDFs. You can store them on your computer and retrieve them at any time.
Check out how you can receive e-Statements online.
In addition, you can track your card activity easily, quickly and securely through e-Baking or the Eurobank Mobile App.
The same way you use any other Eurobank card at an ATM or POS terminal. You can carry out the same transactions as your previous card: shop, withdraw or deposit money, and make payments and cash transfers.
The vertical design does not change the way the Debit Mastercard works. However, it offers the same user experience in your transactions, whether you use the actual card when paying at a POS terminal or its digital form when you pay with your digital wallet.
